# read_brain

> Read or search the GTM brain.

The GTM brain is the company's own knowledge of how it sells: positioning, ICP, market, distribution, pricing, competitors, decisions, and internal meetings. What customers said is in [`get_insights`](/mcp/tools/get-insights) instead.

| Name | Type | Required | Description |

| `path` | string | | One page, for example `Playbooks/ICP` or `Decisions` |
| `search` | string | | What you are looking for, in plain language |

With no arguments it returns the overview and every page path, marked writable or read-only. With `search` it returns matching pages with a snippet. With `path` it returns one page as markdown, with what links to it and what it links to.
