# add_note

> Keep a note, brief, or transcript on a person or company.

Notes are append-only and dated, so an account builds a history across meetings.

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| - | - | - | - |
| `focus` | string | yes | Email, LinkedIn URL, domain, or entity UUID. Never a bare name. |
| `content` | string | yes | The note text |
| `title` | string | | A short name, for example `Discovery prep` |
| `type` | string | | `note` (default), `meeting_brief`, `transcript`, `meeting_notes`, `pre_meeting`, `research` |
| `date` | string | | The relevant date, for example the meeting date. Defaults to now. |

A domain files the note on the company. A new email, LinkedIn URL, or domain creates the person or company.
