# Codex

> Add OpenNous to the Codex CLI and IDE extension.

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light-default","dark":"vesper"}}
codex mcp add opennous --url https://mcp.opennous.cloud/mcp
codex mcp login opennous
```

The login opens your browser. Sign in to OpenNous and click **Allow**. Run `/mcp` in a session to check it's connected.

## With an API key

Create a key in **Settings → API keys**, export it, and point Codex at it in `~/.codex/config.toml`:

[mcp_servers.opennous]
url = "https://mcp.opennous.cloud/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "NOUS_API_KEY"
```
